….Five guilds will be represented, the Mariners, who specialize in seafaring skills such as complex knots; the Steel Bonnets, roaming mercenaries; the Royal Academy, a weapons and warfare academy for youngsters; the Royal Academy, which studies military science, including discipline and punishment; and the Blackshires, a militia from which temporary armies are formed for defense and law enforcement.

Four entertainment stages will offer a little of everything, including one stage for youngsters and their families.

Character groups will also entertain around the grounds, among them actors doing scenes, privateers in the employ of the queen, so-called painted ladies, belly dancers, and mongers — which means people selling things. Food mongers, costume mongers, and the like.

There will even be jousts between intrepid knights, who will compete for the favor of the lord mayor’s wife.

Jacques said the participants are veterans of the Renaissance faire circuit with a combined experience of hundreds of years….

The Ramona Bowl Renaissance Faire will run over the course of four weekends: Sept. 5 to 7, 12-13, 19-20, and 26 to 27.

A Fool and his Lady — performs improvisational comedy, including fractured fairy tales, spoonerisms, and interactive theater.

Lord Rusty — brings  interactive characters and performances to the stage and roving.

The Belles of Bedlam — are a musical comedy troupe.

The Village Idiots — love history and Shakespeare — they just can’t seem to get their facts straight.

The Dancing Belly — is a fusion of the many styles of belly dance.

Jeffrey Daymont — is a juggler that jugglers watch. He is a world champion Cigar Box juggler who has studied at Chicago’s Second City.

Sportive Tricks — Irish music with a twist.

The Lord Mayor’s Harvest Festival — crowns the Harvest King and Queen, as chosen by the Lord Mayor and his orange-girl-turned-wife, Chastity.

Sound & Fury — is a vaudeville-nouveau troupe of players.

Imperial Knights — re-create the thrill of a medieval joust.
