So you want to be a stage performer. Part 2

So you have worked a few of the smaller venues for Free for a couple of years,

Honing your craft and meeting people.

Let’s go over those last two words again, Meeting People.

Everyone you meet is a potential employer.

So be polite to everyone from the person that checks you in, to the guy who checks your arm band and tells you where to park.

Example:

I do a show for a promoter who worked another event’s check-in table so that she could get some pointers on how to make her show better.

If I had walked up to check-in like a Diva and gave her a hard time.

That would be a job I could forget about getting.

Now that you are getting paid, all of the being polite, and helpful will start to pay off.

Some will call it Karma others will call it something else.

I just call it the proper way to do business, and treat people.
